Late November River Wading

At first, the idea of standing in 45 degree water during late November sent chills down my spine, but after a couple days detached from the Internet, work, and life in general, I was enjoying life as it should be. The weather was perfect, the scenery was incredible, and the steady noise of the river was music to my ears.

There I am with one of the smaller catches of the day, but I’m still smiling. We fished most of the day in this hole, about 1 mile upstream from Little Hole, 7 miles downstream from Flaming Gorge Dam.

I haven’t been up on the Green River for quite some time (it used to be a regular event when I lived in Vernal). My brother-in-law, Bruce, wanted to get together and have a fishing trip over the Thanksgiving break. I conceded and suggested that we hit the Green River near Flaming George Dam, (one of the best fishing rivers in the US). I’ve fished the river dozens of times, but this time was more than perfect. I think it was due to the fact that I haven’t been out much lately (school and work have had me down). But either way, the day started out great. We approached the first hole up-stream, waded in, and caught fish until dark.

There’s nothing like taking a moment (or a full weekend for that matter) focusing on something you like other thank work to help put your mind at ease.

PS. I apologize for all the red-neck posts as of late (fishing, wild turkeys, etc.) but that has currently seemed to be my leisure activity of choice.
