I just finished reading the Golden Ratio. I quite enjoyed the book, even though it was quite heavy on the math (the last math class I took was during my Jr. year of high school – 1988!).
When a square is cut from the golden rectangle, the remainder is another golden rectangle. If you continue this process, the result is an infinite spiral of squares, called the “Eye of God” by early mathematicians.
The more I read, and the more I learn, I feel like somehow by not taking any math classes in college, I reall missed out on some cool stuff. I’m also amazed at how the Renaissance artists (DaVinci, Michelangelo, Durer, Raphael) were Masters in more than just art, the explored every aspect of life, science, and spirituality that they could, and incorporated all of it into their art. I’ve been going to school and learning for over, 30 years, yet I feel that I know nothing.
