Summer Break is Over

Summer is pretty much over for me, as I’ve started another semester working on my MFA. I’m currently 1/2 way through, and will mostly be working on my thesis project (more on that later) over the next year. I graduated with my BFA in 1995, and just started my MFA studies in the Fall of 2005. I’m glad to be in school, it seems that my learning and practice has been accelerated. I don’t think I’ve ever produced so much art in my life. Between work, school, and family, I’ve been ultra busy, but I’m really loving it, and have been very satisfied with the experience and my own personal growth in art, design, and technology.

Here’s a recap of the work I did this last semester. Hopefully this one will be as productive as the last…

Spring Semester Recap

During spring semester, I took 2 graduate classes, a digital illustration class, and a Flash design and programming class. I absolutely loved the illustration class, and was able to really get back into creating art. It has been a while since I’ve really done that kind of illustrative work. I really loved it, and created a healthy amount of new works during the semester. I’ve assembled them together so that you can take a look at each of them, along with a short description that will hopefully set the context and help you understand a bit about what I might have been thinking.

I also did a ton of work in the Flash class. The class focused on experimental techniques, so many of my pieces are not the most user friendly (some of them don’t even work right). Just to give you an idea of the number and types of projects I did in that class, here’s a recap.
