The Knot of Isolation

The Knot of Isolation is the fourthy in a series of 10 images which are part of my MFA thesis project. This image thematically addresses the dark isolation that occurs when we think we can do it all ourselves.

The Knot of Childhood

The Knot of Childhood is the third in a series of 10 images which are part of my MFA thesis project. This image thematically addresses the imagination of a child, and how children are often able to see beyond reality. The image style is created manually in Adobe Photoshop by building up thousands of layers of “scribbled” lines.

The Knot of Awareness

The Knot of Awareness is the second in a series of 10 images which are part of my MFA thesis project. The knot of awareness depicts a "Garden of Eden" scene and uses the symbolism of the knot to suggest the search for knowledge and wisdom. The image style is created manually in Adobe Photoshop by building up thousands of layers of “scribbled” lines.

The Knot of Creation

The Knot of Creation is the first in a series of 10 images which are part of my MFA thesis project. The Knot of Creation represents the spiritual creation of the universe. It represents order emerging from chaos and the creative potential that we all have inside of us. The image style is created manually in Adobe Photoshop by building up thousands of layers of “scribbled” lines.

The Father of Television

Philo T. Farnsworth, from Rigby Idaho, invented the television. I remember my Grandfather (also from Idaho) always used to refer to the television as the "one-eyed-monster." In this illustration, Farnsworth cradles his demonic baby, who looks to his future as a servant for the networks. This is the first in a series (soon to come) of famous inventors and their "children."

The Fox & The Stork

Aesop's Fables are timeless classics, which teach us valuable life lessons. In this illustration of the "Fox and the Stork", after both have had their "bad turn", the two are left facing each other with negative energy boiling between them.

Rabbit & Coyote

Another legend—this time from the North American India Tribes. The legend tells the story the the "Trickster Coyote" who gets a trick played on him by a wise Rabbit. The Rabbit escapes becoming the dinner of the Coyote, but the Coyote, ultimately falls victim to his own greed.

Bukowski's Shoes

Charles Bukowski wrote the following about a pair of shoes.

When you're young, a pair of female high-heeled shoes just sitting alone in the closet can fire your bones; when you're old, it's just a pair of shoes without anybody in them and just as well.

The illustration is my interpretation of Bukowski's famous poem.

The Pants of Truth

How long does it take truth to get it's pants on? It all depends on how you need to dress it up.

The illustration is my interpretation of the famous Winston Churchill quote "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth can get its pants on."
